How to choose custom medals
How do I choose the right custom medal?
Start with the use: sports medals mark an event, award medals recognise a person or team, and military medals follow a formal design. Then pick size, finish and ribbon.
What size is best for a custom sports medal?
50 mm to 70 mm is the most common. It hangs well on a ribbon and is large enough for a detailed design.
What finish should custom medals have?
Bright gold, silver and bronze show the placing at a glance. Antique finishes bring out relief, and dual tone adds contrast.
Can I order custom medal ribbons?
Yes. We make printed, woven and satin ribbons in your width, length and colours, with a ring or clip.
What is the difference between a medal and a medallion?
A medal usually hangs from a ribbon. A medallion is a larger piece often shown on a stand or given without a ribbon. We make both.
When should I order medals for an event?
Production takes 12 to 15 days after proof approval, so order at least a month ahead, and longer for sea freight.
